We wanted to get to know a little more about being a Project Analyst at the Phoenix Group, so we asked the people who know best. Here is what Jo Knight and Rugveda Satam who are both Project Analysts had to say.
Jo Knight, Project Analyst
"The Project Analyst team are a really brilliant bunch of people to work with, with an amazing range of experience from people who have been at Phoenix for years to those who have been here for just a few weeks. If you ever become stuck with a piece of work there is always someone in the team who is happy to help or know just the right person to go to.
There is also a really good range of projects to work on meaning you get to work with different project managers and SME’s on a regular basis, with little chance of boredom.
Personally, I’ve been lucky enough to work across four great business areas and Phoenix as a whole is a great place to work. I’ve worked in both the private and public sector, companies large and small – we’re pretty spoiled compared to many other workplaces, and the company is still always looking to improve facilities for us."
Rugveda Satam, Project Analyst
"Less than one month after joining Phoenix Group, I already think it is a perfect place to work at. Right from the initial assessment call from the HR team to joining the company and these first few weeks, it has been a smooth journey. Phoenix has a very structured and well-documented on-boarding process, which includes number of one on one session with the subject matter experts and senior management. These sessions are very informative and helped me understand the Phoenix way of working easily.
Apart from on-going support from my Line Manager, I received a lot of help from my assigned ‘support buddy’ who has been my go-to person for any role related questions. Phoenix group is very up to date with the technology and software’s that are used here and I found most of their change processes are automated where they can be and less manual.
The change management framework and other process related documentation is available on their SharePoint site and as a new starter makes it very easy to access and understand. All the documentation is supported with relevant examples and templates, which makes life easy for a new joiner PA or PM and helps in maintaining standards across the company.
Team and overall culture at Phoenix is very corporate but friendly and warm at the same time. Office at Wythall has some great offerings like free food at the onsite restaurant, sports and social club which runs lots of activities like onsite gym, tennis coaching, badminton sessions, yoga, dance sessions and many more at a subsidised price which I think is brilliant. Teams tend to have lunch together and go for long walks in the playground behind the office, which helps in team bonding.
Lastly, I would say that Phoenix Group provides a work environment which once you have joined you will never want to leave.“
