Apprentice Project Analyst


Salary: Circa £21K, plus qualification sponsorship, bonus and excellent working environment

Location: Wythall (South Birmingham) – Free car parking, bus service available – from local surrounding areas.

Contract duration: 18 months

If you’re an aspiring Project Analyst and you’re looking for your next exciting step on the career ladder, we’ve got the opportunity for you! Within our Change Delivery function, we’re currently looking for up to 3 enthusiastic candidates to join our brand new and exciting Project Analyst Apprenticeship scheme.

Perhaps you’re in an entry level project management role at the moment and you’d like to up your game. Maybe you’re someone who’s touched on certain aspects of project management in your current position, but you’re keen to make it your career focus. You might even have spent time doing something completely different, but you’ve been giving some serious thought to a career change into project management. Whatever your story, we’d like to hear from you.

This is a brilliant opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge on-the-job and – what’s more – after your 18 months are over, upon successful approved completion of the apprenticeship course content you’ll have gained an Associate Project Manager (Level 4) qualification!

On the Apprenticeship scheme, you’ll benefit from training covering a variety of core project management disciplines:

  • Project Governance – different project structures, project roles, project phases and how governance helps support successful delivery

  • Stakeholder Management – who the project stakeholders are, their influences and how we communicate with them

  • Planning – How to create a project plan, how the plan is used to manage the project, how we track schedule, resource and budget, Resource Management

  • Risk, Issue, Assumption and Dependency Management – techniques and tools to identify and manage, using mitigation actions to minimise risk

  • Budget and cost control – Looking at the Phoenix funding governance and supporting submissions for funding, estimating resource and costs, tracking actuals against estimates,

  • Business Case and benefits – Supporting creation of Business Cases and tracking benefits, managing scope against the Business Case and using change control when there is deviation on scope, cost or benefit

  • Project Quality – Quality management, quality assurance and continuous improvement

Minimum entry criteria to apply for this Apprenticeship:

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade A-C plus an A-level equivalent qualification

  • Work experience is essential (financial services experience would be advantageous)
