6 Month Fixed Term Contract
You will be joining the Production Support team within our Actuarial Reporting function, a technical team that is responsible for the front-line initial review, reporting and consolidation of outputs from MG-ALFA, our cloud-based actuarial modelling platform. The implementation of MG-ALFA has already enabled a high degree of harmonisation across our actuarial reporting processes, and we have recently embedded a new suite of strategic reporting tools to enable even greater efficiencies in the analysis and understanding of our financial results. We’re always seeking to do things better, and our continued focus towards accelerated reporting timescales and lean processes means our ability to provide timely, accurate and high-quality analysis of outputs from our core modelling software and its associated processes will become increasingly important – and this is where you come in.
You will primarily be responsible for running our “Business As Usual” processes for one or more of our funds, learning more about our financial metrics and understanding the factors which can affect the levels of capital we need to hold to satisfy good business practices and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with more senior team members and review actuaries to understand and interpret valuation results. This is a great ground floor opening to build your actuarial experience and boost your CV for future career opportunities. Please note - this role does not include formal study support towards IFoA actuarial exams.
What we’re looking for:
You will hold a minimum 2:1 honours degree in mathematics or another numerate subject, and may also have some previous experience in an actuarial, analytical or financial services role. Whatever your background, we'll expect you to be able to demonstrate a passion for analytical and actuarial work, good commercial awareness, and an ability to hit the ground running quickly and use your initiative to support those around you.
We’ll also expect you to be a first class communicator, with good planning, organisation and investigative skills, and a good level of IT literacy, especially in respect of Excel and Word applications. If you have the drive and desire to forge a career in the actuarial field, we’d love to hear from you.
